Fleur Kelinza-Wismayer is the Creative Designer and CEO of the 'Fleur Kelinza' fashion brand.
During her studies in university, she worked in Selfridges and Harrods with some of the big brands in fashion, the experience of which provided her with a unique insight into the retail arm of the fashion industry as a whole.
After deciding to follow her passion, Fleur attended the London College of Fashion and established the Fleur Kelinza Fashion brand in 2007, making one-off pieces for a select clientele in London. With the vision to always grow and be a designer for longevity, Fleur launched her brand last year on the international stage during Mercedes-Benz Fashion week Malta.
Subsequently, three of her collection pieces were featured in Vogue Italia that month.
Originally from Ghana, Fleur has incorporated an ancient Ghanaian symbol as her company logo and featured it in several of her designs.
This ancient symbol denotes a Ram’s Horn, and can be translated as being representative of ‘humility and strength’
COMPANY OWNERSHIP/ STRUCTURE
Fleur Kelinza-Wismayer is the founder of the Fleur Kelinza Brand which is now co-owned with business partner Simon Wismayer PhD who has run an international IT Consultancy business since March 1995. Fleur has an undergraduate degree in Banking and Finance; during her studies, she worked on the sales floor of Selfridges and Harrods. Fleur worked for top brands such as YSL, Gucci, Amanda Wakely and Chanel; a job that provided her with unique insight to the retail industry. During this time she gathered a wealth of knowledge and expertise to complement and grow her business. After that she realised her heart was more in the fashion industry and undertook some courses in the production of womenswear at the London College of Fashion. This she did whilst setting up Fleur Kelinza Fashion. Thus Fleur gained the necessary practical experience for this venture, which with her industry experience and unique skill sets, will lead Fleur Kelinza Fashion to become a premier international boutique.
MANAGEMENT SUMMARY.
Fleur has been successfully making women’s evening and cocktail wear since 2007 for a select group of clients in the London area. It has been with their encouragement and her talent that she has now taken this to the next level (please see links to Malta Fashion Week, Press Fashion Bloggers and Vogue Italia’s online May issue). Having approached Harrods Headbuyer for women’s evening and cocktail wear, we have been delighted with the promise of Harrods featuring the Fleur Kelinza Fashion range for Autumn/Winter 2014. With these endorsements, we feel we are now ready to take another step forward and are planning to open our first retail outlet in Victoria Quarter Leeds for which we are seeking investment. This is a very carefully selected unit in an arcade featuring Vivienne Westwood, Karen Millen, Luis Vuitton, and Harvey Nichols. Fleur Kelinza Fashion will be a severe test as a competitor.
